Welcome & Announcements
* Call to Worship... Psalm 100
Leader: Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth! Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the LORD, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.
* Hymn of Praise #115... “All Creatures of Our God and King”
* Prayer of Adoration
* Affirmation of Our Faith…The Canons of Dort, Points 3 & 4, Article 1
Leader: Christian, what do you believe of the effect of the fall on human nature?
All: Human beings were originally created in the image of God and were furnished in mind with a true and sound knowledge of the Creator and things spiritual, in will and heart with righteousness, and in all emotions with purity; indeed, the whole human being was holy.(1) However, rebelling against God at the devil’s instigation and by their own free will, they deprived themselves of these outstanding gifts.(2) Rather, in their place they brought upon themselves blindness, terrible darkness, futility, and distortion of judgment in their minds; perversity, defiance, and hardness in their hearts and wills; and finally impurity in all their emotions.(3)
Hymn of Trust #264... “Jesus, Keep Me near the Cross”
Call to Confession... 1 John 3:19-22
Leader: By this we shall know that we are of the truth and reassure our heart before him; for whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.
Corporate Prayer of Confession ... Psalm 39:7-11
All: And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in you. Deliver me from all my transgressions. Do not make me the scorn of the fool! I am mute; I do not open my mouth, for it is you who have done it. Remove your stroke from me; I am spent by the hostility of your hand. When you discipline a man with rebukes for sin, you consume like a moth what is dear to him; surely all mankind is a mere breath!
Silent Prayers of Confession
* Assurance of God’s Grace... 1 John 1:7
Leader: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
